This workshop, led by Faye Lawand-Maclean from The Recharge Project, will take your practice and enjoyment of yin yoga to deeper levels of knowledge, understanding and appreciation.
The workshop will cover:
WHAT yin yoga is and what sets it apart from other forms of yoga. We’ll look at the influences of Daoist Philosophy on yin yoga, and the role of the 5 Elements, Meridians and Chi in the practice. This is also where we’ll get into the fascinating world of fascia and discuss individual bone structure and the uniqueness of our human anatomy.
WHY yin yoga is so beneficial for our musco-skeletal structure, our immunity and for overall sense of well-being. Here we’ll also look at the anti-stress and anti-ageing benefits of the practice.
HOW we practice yin yoga. Here, we’ll talk about AND experience the importance of long-held tractions, rebounds, pelvic tilts, variations to poses, and the use of props. We’ll enter yin poses to experience the fascial network in our bodies from the plantar fascia in the soles of the feet to the epicraneal fascia in the skull.
FINALLY: a beautiful yoga nidra to really help seal the practice and anchor in all the relaxation and stress relief from the earlier part of the practice.
We'll end the workshop with bliss balls and a selection of herbal tea
