How many breaths have you taken today?
The breath is one of our most powerful tools yet we spend most of our lives letting each inhale and exhale roll away in unconscious autonomy.
Conscious breathing is the practice of bringing a strong awareness to your breath and the effect it can have on your body, mind and life. When we are stressed, anxious or frustrated our breath responds. When we are calm, happy and energised our breath responds. In the reverse way, if we control our breath using various techniques, our emotional and mental state responds.
This two-hour workshop will be split into two parts. The first will go through the mechanics and benefits of stomach breathing, true deep breathing, breath retention and breath of fire to build the foundations for not only the second part but a life long personal practice as well.
The second part will be a circular breathing session in which we will experience the transformational effects of maintaining deep mindfulness for an extended period of time.
Logan’s goal as a guide is to leave you with tools that you can take away to use in every aspect of your personal life and to ensure the class is accessible to all who enter. His methods are slow and structured, to ensure a rich understanding of what is happening throughout. The practice can feel like a journey but with his steady approach aims to help bring up only that which are you are ready to release.
Investment: $39
Here’s Logan in his experience with the practice :
“My first taste of breathwork came to me unexpectedly during my 200hr yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India.
Since then I have worked with other teachers in both Australia and India, each with their own personal touches which have influenced my own style. The methods I use are not store-bought, they have been tried and tested on my own mat throughout various stages of my life.
Breath-work came to me when I really needed to release some heavy emotional burdens and it felt like months of mindfulness training in one short hour. Conscious breathing has helped me through family troubles, alcoholism/drug addiction and an array of negative beliefs and behaviours. I have now been practicing and developing these methods for the past couple of years and am still constantly surprised by the impacts my breath can have on my day to day and beyond. Whether it's a deep emotional cleansing or just increasing oxygen intake during exercise, conscious breathing seems to find it's way into all aspects of my life and now it is my gift to you.“
