Hañsa Flow® is a movement practice, created by Vincent Boletta, that explores functionality, integration and balance through its developed understanding of human movement and natural biomechanics. It is designed to bring a sense of embodiment and ease.
In a Hañsa Flow® class you are guided through a set series of movement sequences. Allowing time to find your own rhythm,co-ordination and, with time, a 'Flow' state. Its approach accommodates all levels, from beginner to advanced, as it has an adaptive quality which is playful and fun.
This 2-hour workshop will delve deeper into the Evolve practice. Evolve Is the third practice in the Hansa Flow series and has four sections - Foundations, Middle path, Open and Receiving
This Evolve practice symbolises the Mandala. It starts in a simple form of table and expands outwardly from there getting a little more complex as you move through the four sections. It then returns back to where you started.
We will break down each section; allowing for more time to practice moving through the transitions, more space to play and time to work on the mind-body-breath or subtle relationship of the body, bringing a more functional quality and ease to your practice.
Liana will also introduce you to Hansa bodywork therapy. These are functional touch points which involve partner work, This work will deeper the connection to self and deepen your understanding of your body and helps to improve movement quality.
Note: this event has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations within this timeframe and no-shows cannot be refunded or credited.
About Liana:
Liana has been studying Hañsa flow® with it’s creator Vincent Bolletta for several years. She has been teaching at Yoga Ground for more than 7 years and was first introduced to Yoga while studying Dance and Choreography at the Performing Arts School back in 95- 96.
Her first yoga teacher was Sharon LightFoot who taught at her dance school and was Iyengar-based. She ignited Liana's passion and interest for yoga and it grew from there. Liana still studies with Sharon on a casual basis as an apprentice.
For several years Liana worked using the Alexandra technique with Debra McCulloch which involved a lot of hands-on work with the body. She also spent time in New York studying Klein Technique - bone dance body technique which is about efficiency and integration. Both of these have influenced her approach to yoga and her knowledge of the body.
She has also participated in numerous other workshops and courses including an immersion with Raphan Kebe in Greece.
In addition, Liana has also been freelancing for 18 years as a contemporary dancer and believes that yoga has played an integral part in her dance training.
Liana likes her teaching to be playful and to remind her students that yoga can be fun. That we can laugh and just be our true selves..
